Plasser Scandinavia has, in collaboration with Banebranchen (The Danish Railway Association), arranged a study trip to Austria for DTU students and members of the association.

This is a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes at Voestalpine’s steel mill in Donawitz and Plasser & Theurer, the world’s biggest manufacturer for “yellow machines” (tamping machines, ballast regulators, track renewal trains, track bed rehabilitators, trolleys etc.) in Linz, and see how the rails and large equipment is manufactured.

Furthermore, there will be an exciting lecture at the Technical University of Graz’ Institute of Railway Engineering and Transport Economy.

Banebranchen sponsors airline tickets, accommodation, and local transportation (bus) for students. Members can go with the students on the local transportation but must arrange their own travel to/from Vienna International Airport and accommodation in Graz.

The itinerary is as follows:

Note: As there are limited tickets on this trip, there is a no-show fee of 1000 DKK.
